摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of controlling light emission output of an optical head of an optical disk recording apparatus which employs a running OPC by being combined with a differential push-pull method with 3 beams arranged in one row. <P>SOLUTION: The method used for an optical head is provided with: a diffraction grating 2 having a phase shift area 2b for generating the phase shifting of an integer multiple of &pi;/2 radian in a predetermined part of preceding and succeeding subbeams of 3 beams formed by diffracting a laser beam; and a photodetector 8 having light receiving parts each divided at least into two parts in the projection direction of the signal track of a disk and receiving the respective reflected optical beams of the 3 beams. The method is characterized in that: correspondence is set with a tracking control system based on a differential push-pull method in the state where the 3 beams are arranged in one row on the same signal track; the succeeding subbeam is set on the same track as the signal track on which a main beam is set; and a data signal recorded in the disk is detected by a light receiving output from the light receiving part for receiving the reflected light beam of the succeeding subbeam. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
