摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method for a membrane electrode junction with which reaction gas is contacted with a catalyst layer effectively, contact between the catalyst layer and a gas diffusion layer is improved to lower electric resistance of an interface between them, and corrosion of catalyst can be suppressed. <P>SOLUTION: The manufacturing method for the membrane electrode junction comprises: a process for applying a solution using only electrolyte as solvent to a surface of a solid polyelectrolyte film 18; a process for making an underlying layer 27 by forming irregularity (convex parts 27A) on the solution applied surface and drying it; a process for making the catalyst layer 21 by applying the catalyst to the underlying layer 27 and drying it; and a process for making the gas diffusion layer on the catalyst layer 21. Convex parts of the catalyst layer 21, which are made by forming the irregularity on the surface to which the catalyst is applied, encroach on carbon fiber of the gas diffusion layer laminated on the catalyst layer 21 and contact closely with the carbon fiber. Thereby, the electric resistance of the interface between the catalyst layer 21 and the gas diffusion layer is lowered and its electric conductivity is improved. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
