PURPOSE:To obtain new stachybocin D, having excellent antagonistic actions on endothelin and useful as a medicine capable of coping with ischemic diseases. CONSTITUTION:This stachybocin D of an estimated structural formula has the following physico-chemical properties: color and state of the substance: white powder; distinction of acidity, basicity and neutrality: acidic substance; specific rotatory powder [alpha]<23>D: -67+ or -10 deg. (c=0.5, methanol); molecular formula: C52H70O12N2; molecular weight: 914 fast atom bombardment(FAB) mass spectrometry [(M+H)<+>: 915,5061]; solubility: soluble in methanol, dimethyl sulfoxide and alkaline water, insoluble in water, benzene and n-hexane; color reaction: manifesting the positivity to iodine vapor reaction and potassium permanganate decoloring reaction and the negativity to the ferric chloride reaction, ninhydrin reaction, Molisch reaction, etc. The compound is obtained by culturing a microorganism, belonging to the genus Stachybotrys and capable of producing the stachybocin D, e.g. Stachybotrys sp. M6222 (FERM P-13344), producing the stachybocin D and collecting the resultant stachybocin D. |
