The present invention describes improved cellular compositions containing anhydrite and having high compression resistance values of from about 110 Kg/cm2 to about 138 Kg/cm2, as well as methods for obtaining said compositions. The cellular materials thus obtained are useful as constructive structural materials without including the disadvantages commonly associated with the presence of anhydrous calcium sulphate in similar materials.
