An automatic vent (30) has a cup (32) including a bottom wall (38), a side wall (40), an open top, and an inlet for introducing fluid into a compartmen t (42) defined by the bottom and side walls (38, 40). A valve assembly (34) of the automatic vent includes a cap (50) disposed over the open top of the cup (32). The cap (50) has a body (54) with an upwardly facing surface (60), a downwardly facing surface (62), a bore (64) formed within the body (54) for enabling fluid communication between the compartment (42) and atmosphere, an d an annular rim (66) provided around the bore on the downwardly facing surfac e (62). A lever arm (52) is hingedly connected at one end thereof to the body (54) of the cap adjacent the annular rim. |
