<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic camera capable of recording an image in timing that a photographer intends whichever of an optical finder and a monitor is used. <P>SOLUTION: In addition to an imaging device (14), a monitor (18), an optical finder (20) and a control means (10), the electronic camera is equipped with: a buffer means (10A) of temporarily storing images which are successively outputted from the imaging device each for a specified period; and a detecting means (20A) of detecting the use/nonuse state of the optical finder by the photographer. When the detecting means detects that the optical finder is not being used, the control means reads an image displayed on the monitor out of the buffer means and records it when recording is instructed. When the detecting means detects the optical finder is being used, the control means directly records an image outputted from the imaging device or reads the image out of the buffer and records it when recording is instructed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
