PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a door safety device for an elevator capable of attaining safety by emitting warning when a danger such that a passenger in a car may contact a car door and a finger may be clamped is generated. SOLUTION: The door safety device for the elevator is provided with the car door 5 for opening/closing an exit/entrance 2 of the car 1; touch sensors 10a, 10b for detecting the passenger in the car 1 who contacts door panels 5a, 5b of the car door; and a buzzer 25 for emitting the warning in the car 1. When the hand of the passenger in the car 1 contacts the door panels 5a, 5b, it is detected by the touch sensors 10a, 10b and the buzzer 25 is sounded, thereby, a passenger's attention is called. When the hand contacts the door 5 during opening of the car door 5, the buzzer 25 is substantially simultaneously sounded, and when the hand contacts the door 5 during closing of the car door 5 or in the closed state, the buzzer 25 is sounded after a predetermined time is passed.
