PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust treatment device for an engine which can reduce emission of exhaust noise to outside an exhaust outlet case.SOLUTION: An exhaust treatment device for an engine comprises an outlet pipe sound absorption chamber 3. The outlet pipe sound absorption chamber 3 comprises an outlet pipe sound absorption chamber wall 3a and an outlet pipe sound absorption material 3b. The outlet pipe sound absorption chamber wall 3a incorporates the outlet pipe sound absorption material 3b, and covers an intermediate portion 2c of an exhaust outlet pipe 2 in an axial length direction. The inside of the outlet pipe absorption chamber 3 communicates with the inside of the exhaust outlet pipe 2 through a pipe communication hole 2d which is opened on a peripheral wall of the exhaust outlet pipe 2. An exhaust flow-in hole 2a of the exhaust outlet pipe 2 is arranged on the peripheral wall of the exhaust outlet pipe 2 on a side closer to a pipe starting end part 2e than to the outlet pipe sound absorption chamber 3 with an end part on a side opposite to an exhaust flow-out port 2b out of both end parts of the exhaust outlet pipe 2 as the pipe starting end part 2e.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 |
