A method and device for establishing a connection are disclosed. The method comprises: during the process of establishing a radio resource control (RRC) connection, a base station sending to a user equipment (UE) short transmission time interval (TTI) connection indication information, said information being used as an indication for the UE to initiate short TTI communication mode in accordance with a pre-set time in the short TTI connection indication information; in accordance with the pre-set time in the short TTI connection indication information, the base station initiating short TTI communication mode, and establishing a RRC connection with the UE by means of said mode. |
