Thermal spraying material comprises: (a) 5-30 wt.% of aluminum-silicon (AlSi) alloy powder containing 12-30 wt.% Si and also 0.5-5.0 wt.% copper and/or 0.2-3.0 wt.% magnesium, 1-15 wt.% iron, manganese and/or nickel, (the rest aluminum); and (b) 95-70 wt.% of cast iron powder containing 2-4 wt.% carbon, /} 0.3 wt.% Si, 0.5-3.0 wt.% phosphorus, and the rest iron. An Independent claim is also included for a structure with a sliding surface of a sliding element coated with this material.
