Cross-type disc coupling has two claws fitting into grooves, with radial clearance, and pre-tensioning

Each of the two coupling parts has two diametrically opposite claws (6) fitting into grooves (5a-5d) in a cross-type disc between the coupling parts. Radial displacement of the coupling parts is compensated for by the radial clearance (7) between the claws and grooves. The cross-type disc (1) comprises at least two discs(1a) connected by elastomers between them. Before the discs are incorporated, they are turned by an angle towards each other, so that the parts, once incorporated, are pre-tensioned in a peripheral direction.
