<p>The invention concerns a method for compressing a structured document comprising nested information elements, the document being associated with at least a tree-like structure schema (1) defining a structure of the document and comprising of nested structural components, representing information elements, which consists in: analysing (11) and compiling (13) the structural schema of the document to obtain for each component of the schema, a sequence of executable instructions (5), comprising instructions for inserting control codes and codes of element or calling for sequences of component instructions, and instructions for controlling the development of the execution of the sequence on the basis of control code values; and decompressing (14') the document to be decompressed (10) which is in the form of a bit stream, said step including execution of sequences of instructions (5) on the bit stream, to restore a document with original format.</p> |
