The present invention relates to a backlight structure. The backlight structure includes: a diffusion plate to diffuse an irradiated light to the outside; a lower plate to reflect the light diffused into an irradiation space toward the diffusion plate; a plurality of housings coupled around the diffusion plate and the lower plate; and a light source coupled with one of the housings to irradiate the light to the inside of the irradiation space. The diffusion plate is provided with a diffusion part which permits the light irradiated from the light source toward the irradiation space to be diffused when the light makes contact with the surface of the diffusion plate. A hosing reflector is provided on a surface of an installation part of the housing, which is opposite to the other housing on which the light source is installed, to reflect the light irradiated from the light source toward the irradiation space. A lower plate reflector is provided on an upper surface of the lower plate to reflect the light irradiated from the light source toward the irradiation space. Thus, since the light source is installed on only one side of the housing, maintenance such as replacement of electric lamps is very convenient. The light source irradiates light to an irradiation space where the light diffusion is superior, so the diffusion characteristic can be improved. When the light sources are assembled in one housing and the housing is press-fitted around the diffusion plate and the lower plate, the backlight structure where the irradiation space is secured is temporarily assembled, so whole assembly of the backlight can be simple. Furthermore, since the scattered reflection occurs more in a darker portion of the inner surfaces of the diffusion plate when the light is irradiated from the light source, the inner surface of the diffusion plate can uniformly emit the light. Therefore, the whole diffusion plate can uniformly emit light. |
