1. A method performed when communicating information between a network device and a user equipment (UE) that is capable of communicating data via first and second air interfaces, the method comprising:
when the first air interface is unavailable, updating, by a network device, connection context information that defines parameters associated with one or more services of the UE that utilize the first air interface, wherein the UE is connected to a core network through a first access network via the first air interface; caching, by an offload point device, downlink data to be sent to the UE via the first air interface, wherein the offload point device is the network device; determining, by the network device, whether quality of service (QOS) requirements associated with the one or more services will be met if the services are transitioned to the second air interface; when the network device determines that the QOS associated with at least one service will be met, communicating a first message to the UE to instruct the UE to communicate data associated with the at least one service via the second air interface rather than the first air interface, wherein the first message carries updating information related to the updated connection context information, such that the UE updates connection context information corresponding to the one or more services on the first air interface according to the updating information so as to obtain the updated connection context information; and performing, by the network device, data transmission with the UE to send the cashed downlink data to the UE according to the updated connection context information. |
