PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily execute processing of data of a picture-in-picture, a pan, a tilt or the like through the effective use of the image data of a plurality of hierarchies. SOLUTION: Image data is read out from a memory means 5 for storing image data having a hierarchical structure via the switching of hierarchies, thereby executing a necessary process. In other words, this device has the memory means 5 for storing image data of a plurality of hierarchies quantized at different sampling pitches, and a control means for selectively reading out image data from the memory means 5. The control means switches a hierarchy and at the same time, controls timing for reading out the image data from the memory means 5, thereby converting and outputting the aspect ratio of image data stored in the memory means 5. |
