PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide optical transmission equipment with which the spread of light spectrum beam width can be much more suppressed. SOLUTION: Complementary electric duo-binary signals are applied to both the electrodes of a two-electrode type optical modulator 24. The optical modulator 24 modulates the output light of a laser light source 26 and generates an optical duo-binary signal. A light intensity modulator 30 modulates the intensity of light outputted from the optical modulator 24 in 100% of modulation degree. An optical phase modulator 34 modulates the optical phase of light outputted from the light intensity modulator 30. A polarized wave modulator 38 performs polarized scrambling to the output light of the optical phase modulator 34 and outputs it to an optical transmission line. |
