A detachable vehicle - trailer coupling alignment system with a signal devic e to show a stop point to an operator using side mirrors, while reversing a vehicle to a trailer for the purpose of coupling the two, typically at a ball and hitch. The vehicle unit utilizes a friction fit clip that fastens to a vehicle's tow ball neck supporting it so that distal ends of equal length support beams extend beyond the sides of the vehicle with visib le end markers which can be seen through side view mirrors. The trailer unit also comprises of distal ends of equal length support beams with visible end markers visible t o side view mirrors, supported by a pivoting adjustable friction fit clip mounted to the hitch. Being of equal length, the distal ends of support beams on either side of the vehicle and trailer permit the end markers to visually line up or come together as viewed by the driver through the rear view mirrors when the ball and hitch are accurately lined u p for a positive connection. The markers permit the driver to align the vehicle unit to the trailer unit while reversing the vehicle, and therefore aligns the tow ball to the trailer hitch as those units are mounted to these parts specifically and respectively. A trigger switch on the trailer unit is deployed to activate the signal device, which may be a light visible to the operator indicating the stop point, when in contact with the vehicle bal l. The pivot point is in proximity to the hitch socket to facilitate alignment at differe nt angles of attack.
