PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To freely change paying methods as to whether to be cash settlement or prepaid card settlement even during the registration of sold merchandise. SOLUTION: A merchandise price difference area 2b for storing a price difference between a cash settlement price of the sold merchandise and its prepaid card settlement price is provided in a memory 2, the total amounts (c) of sales prices are integrated at cash settlement prices in registering the sold merchandise, the price differences of the sold merchandise are also integrated and stored in a merchandise price difference area 2b, a payment method is decided according to the existence/nonexistence of prepaid card insertion into a card reader 6 when a 'cash amount/deposit' key is pressed down to determine sales transaction, and if this payment method is prepaid card settlement, the total amounts (d) of price differences are collectively subtracted from the total amounts (c) of sales prices. Paying methods can be freely changed in the case of being before the determination of sales transaction by deciding a paying method at the determination of sales transaction.
