PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an image forming device from being actuated when a fixing unit is not fitted to the image forming device main body and to avoid such a danger that the finger of a user is caught by a gear part or burned because it touches a high voltage part. SOLUTION: This image forming device is constituted so that an electrostatic latent image is formed on an image carrier, developed by the toner of adeveloping means and made into a developed image. Besides, the toner image is transferred on a transfer material by a transfer means and the toner image transferred on the transfer material is fixed by a fixing means. Then, the transfer material is ejected. The fixing unit 30 which can be exchanged by the user is used as the fixing means. A microswitch 50 turned on or off according as the unit 30 is attached and detached with respect to the device main body is serially arranged to an interlocking switch 80 interlocking with the opening and closing action of the cover of the device main body. Thus, a power source 70 is prevented from being turned on when the unit 30 is not fitted to the device main body. |
