PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the equipment cost and to obtain high-quality potted plants. SOLUTION: This apparatus for irrigating the base of the potted plants is obtained by installing a containerlike housing tank (6) having many drainage holes (4) over the nearly whole area of the base, covering at least the nearly whole surface of the housing tank (6) with a water-impermeable sheet (7), forming many water leakage holes (8) holding a prescribed amount of water leakage with a prescribed interval in the nearly whole area of the base of the sheet (7) and providing a water feed device (12) for feeding a prescribed amount of water to the interior of the housing tank (6) at a larger feed rate than the total amount of water leakage of the sheet (7).
