<p>In a telecommunications network there is a need to monitor the status and health of various elements in real time. The techniques disclosed herein use a real time connection to directly or indirectly interact with a network element's operating system to obtain a real time data stream of messages for processing. The streaming messages are parsed and entered into a main database as they are produced, providing a real time capture of the streaming data into a database format. Data processing and analysis based on pre-defined algorithms are then performed in real time on the content stored within the main database, resulting in the generation of condition data. The condition data is then used to detect faults, generate reports, alarms and notifications. Moreover, processing the condition data against a resolution database, the system is able to provide recommendations that are most likely to resolve the fault or potential fault situation should it exist.</p> |
