PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve communication efficiency by reducing data frames' loss caused by collision etc.SOLUTION: A transmitter 101 comprises: a data transmission unit 11 for transmitting a data frame to a receiver 201; a confirmation response reception unit 12 for receiving a confirmation response frame in response to the data frame; a RTS transmission unit 15 for transmitting a RTS control frame; a CTS reception unit 16 for receiving a CTS control frame in response to the RTS control frame; a retransmission ratio measurement unit 13 for measuring a retransmission ratio of data frames transmitted by the data transmission unit 11; and a determination unit 14 for determining use of RTS/CTS control frames so as to make the RTS transmission unit 15 start transmission of a RTS control frame when a retransmission ratio of data frames measured by the retransmission ratio measurement unit 13 is higher than a first threshold and make the RTS transmission unit 15 stop transmission of a RTS control frame when a retransmission ratio of data frames is lower than a second threshold.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
