PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel ternary borazine-containing silicone copolymer and a method for preparing a thin film thereof. SOLUTION: A B,B',B"-trialkynyl borazine compound represented by general formula (1) (R1 is an alkyl group, an aryl group, an aralkyl group, or a hydrogen atom; and R2 is an alkyl group, an aryl group, an aralkyl group or a hydrogen atom) and a diyne or triyne compound represented by general formula (2) (R7 is an alkyl group, an aryl group, an aralkyl group, or a hydrogen atom; and R8 is a divalent or trivalent group) are mixed with a silicone compound represented by general formula (3) (R3 and R4 are each an alkyl group, an aryl group, an aralkyl group, or a hydrogen atom; and R5 is a divalent group) in the presence of a platinum-containing catalyst to form a solution. The solution is applied to the surface of a material to form a thin film of a ternary borazine-containing silicone copolymer by virtue of addition reaction of the hydrosilyl group to the alkenyl group.
