PURPOSE: A billet for rolling wire rods to prevent creases is provided to manufacture wire rods having superior surface quality by preventing creases formed by non-pressed surface of the billet and a method for manufacturing the same is provided. CONSTITUTION: In the structure of a billet used as a work to be rolled in the wire rod rolling process and formed of a rectangular bar having approximately square sectional shape, the billet is characterized in that four surfaces of the billet are projectingly formed in such a way that the four surfaces of the billet are bulged to a certain height, wherein both surfaces of the billet oppositely directed to each other are projectingly formed in such a way that the both surfaces of the billet are bulged to a certain height. In a continuous casting method for continuously casting billet through a process of transferring and drawing the solidified molten steel by rolls(25) at the lower side of the mold as molten steel(22a) is being solidified in the mold that is water cooled by cooling water pipe arranged inside the mold after flowing molten steel contained in tundish(22) in a mold(24) whose upper and lower parts are opened through a submerged entry nozzle(23) installed under the tundish, the method for manufacturing a billet for rolling wire rods to prevent creases is characterized in that an inner surface shape of the mold is formed in a concave shape by press forming to manufacture a bulging shaped billet.
