Disclosed is an aliphatic polyester resin that is manufactured using a polymerization catalyst and that has a polyhydroxy acid skeleton as the main ingredient. A specific organic phosphorous compound is copolymerized in the resin. In the aliphatic polyester resin, the activity of the polymerization catalyst contained in the resin is sufficiently decreased after polymerization, making it difficult for lactides to be produced even with heating after polymerization or after production.
