PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique which is less likely to apply a large tensile load to a membrane electrode assembly when using metal as a separator or polymer as a support frame.SOLUTION: A fuel battery single cell 1 comprises: a membrane electrode assembly 5; gas diffusion layers 3c and 3a arranged respectively on both side surfaces of the membrane electrode assembly while leaving an outer peripheral edge 52e on one side surface of the membrane electrode assembly; an adhesive layer 10 formed so as to cover the outer peripheral edge; a support frame 2 fixed onto the adhesive layer; and separators 4c and 4a fixed to the support frame in a peripheral portion and arranged respectively on both surface sides of the support frame and the gas diffusion layers so as to abut on the gas diffusion layers in a central portion. The support frame includes a support frame body 20 and adhesive coating layers 21 and 22 formed of an adhesive having thermoplasticity on at least one of both side surfaces of the support frame body. The separators are formed of metal, and the support frame body is formed of a drawn crystalline polymer.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 |
