PURPOSE:To accurately stop an information recording medium in a desired position in a short period by feeding the medium with a high-speed main driving motor if the current picture frame position is distant from the desired picture frame position and switching the motor to an auxiliary driving motor when it approaches the desired picture frame. CONSTITUTION:A key is inputted from a console 25, and this input signal is sent to a control circuit 27; and if the desired picture frame is distant, a switch 26 is operated to switch a driving system to a high-speed feeding DC motor 21 and the switch 26 is switched to the side of a contact (a) and a switch 33 is switched to the side of a contact (a). The output waveform obtained with a step motor 22 used as a rotary encode is a sine wave output wave form corresponding to the rotation angle. With respect to the operation principle,the motive power is generated with coils L1 and L2 by rotation of a rotor 22b interlocking with a shaft. This motive power is amplified by an amplifier 34, and the speed of the DC motor 21 is controlled by the output signal.
