PURPOSE:To remarkably enhance the decorativeness of the surface by grinding the glaze layer of an enamel product, by sandblasting in the desired shape to the half depth, and then backing the product at an appropriate temp. to render a softly finished rugged pattern on the surface. CONSTITUTION:A metallic base material 1 is glazed and baked, and an enamel product 3 coated with a glaze layer 2 is obtained. A protective layer 4 of desired shape is provided on the glaze surface by a transfer method, etc. The surface is then sandblasted to grind the unprotected part to the half depth of the glaze layer 2, and the protective layer 4 is removed. As a result, a serrated and angular stepped part 5 is formed in the glaze layer 2, and a ground product 6 is obtained. when the 'Littleton' point of the glaze of the glaze layer 2 is adjusted to TL deg.C, the ground product 6 is baked at a temp. between TL-TL+80 deg.C. Consequently, the angular stepped part 5 is somewhat rounded, the luster on the surface is restored, and an enamel product having excellent decorativeness is obtained.
