An air conditioner is provided to prevent sudden dropping and closing of a front panel coupled with a main body of an indoor unit while the front panel is completely opened, thereby protecting users from safety accidents and preventing the indoor unit and panel from being damaged when cleaning or changing filters. An air conditioner includes a rotation element(36) rotatively mounted to a main body(20) to keep an opening state of a front panel(10) in contact with the front panel at a cam surface, and a supporting element coupled with the rotation element for applying supporting force to the front panel to keep the front panel as being opened by the rotation element. The rotation element has a manipulation element protruded from an outer surface of the rotation element for pulling the rotation element. The supporting element is a torsion spring(30) for applying elastic restoring force to the rotation element. |
