PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the A/D resolution at a low cost by utilizing a dither effect. SOLUTION: A signal shown in doted lines in the Fig. resulting from superimposing a signal with higher frequency than an input analog signal onto a reference voltage is given to a reference terminal of the A/D converter. Thus, number of intersection times with the input analog signal shown by the tilted solid lines increased so as to enhance the resolution. According to the method above, a reference signal of the A/D converter is used in common in the case of multi- channel configuration and the cost can remarkably be reduced.
