(1) A method of producing an electrode plate for a color display unit, comprising forming a color filter on a substrate, then forming a layer obtained by at least partly carbonizing the color filter by means of a process using discharging in an almost atmospheric-pressure dry environment, and forming a transparent conductive film (inorganic conductive film) on the partly-carbonized color filter layer; or (2) a method of producing an electrode plate for a color display unit, comprising forming a color filter and an organic protection film sequentially on a substrate, then forming on the organic protection film an at least partly carbonized layer by means of a process using discharging in an almost atmospheric-pressure dry environment, and forming a transparent conductive film (inorganic conductive film) on the partly-carbonized organic protection film; an electrode plate obtained by these production methods; and a color display unit using the electrode plate. An electrode plate for a color display unit, which prevents physical and chemical damages to a color filter or an organic protection film and improves an adhesion to a conductive film by a simpler method and a production method therefor; and a color display unit using the electrode plate.
