PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel injector of a cylinder direct injection type internal combustion engine for injecting fuel in the proper injection timing by improving operability. SOLUTION: This fuel injector 40 has a selector valve 60. The selector valve 60 slidingly stores a transformer valves 80 and 90 in a fuel passing space 70a inside a housing 70. First and second supply passages 60a and 60b are formed in the transformer valves 80 and 90, and the transformer valves 80 and 90 always seat an opening-closing valve part 93 on a seating surface 75d of the housing 70 by a second energizing means 105, and the second supply passage 60b is blocked up by this opening-closing valve part 93. The opening-closing valve part 93 makes supply fuel flow out to the other end opening 72d side by passing through the first and second supply passages 60a and 60b, by opening the second supply passage 60b against energizing force by the second energizing means 105 when pressing force acting on the transformer valves increases in response to hydraulic pressure of the supply fuel.
