A method for manufacturing a liquid crystal display device is provided to form a black matrix in a structure of which a center part is higher than an edge part, thereby preventing luminance caused by ununiform cell cap and lack of ink in environmental parts of pixels, thereby preventing leakage of light at the edge part of the black matrix. In a method for manufacturing a liquid crystal display device, a black matrix(230) is formed in a structure, of which a center part(220) is thicker than an edge part(210) thereof on a substrate(100). The black matrix is in a trapezoidal structure of two or more stages with a difference of thickness. The difference of thickness between the center part and the edge part is in the range from 5000A to 20000A. The black matrix is formed on a substrate formed with color filter substrate or a substrate formed with color filters and common electrodes. |
