PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a learning efficiency by displaying a learning word on a screen and simultaneously outputting voice corresponding to the word in synchronism with the word. SOLUTION: When a voice learning mode is not set, learning data corresponding to the setting contents of a user are transmitted to a caption control section 14 from a learning database 11, caption-processed and displayed on the screen of a CRT 8 via a video switch 6. On the other hand, when the user sets a voice learning mode, phonetic symbols of each word included in the learing data are read from the section 14 in accordance with the control signals of a microcomputer 4, digital voice data for every phoneme of the symbols are read from a phonetic symbol voice storage ROM 20 and supplied to a voice synthesis section 25. The section 14 expresses accent corresponding to phonetic symbols of an English word in synchronism with video data of the word and output it through a voice synthesis section 25 based on the control of the microcomputer 4. |
