PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image transfer apparatus capable of carrying out facsimile communication over IP networks managed by different enterprises, and provide a method thereof, and a program. SOLUTION: When an IP network compatible facsimile machine 3-A transmits image data to an IP network compatible facsimile machine 3-B or the like connected to the IP network 2-B different from the IP network 2-A to which the IP network compatible facsimile machine 3-A is connected, a transfer apparatus 1 transmits the image data from the IP network compatible facsimile machine 3-A via the IP network 2-A to the IP network compatible facsimile machine 3-B via the IP network 2-B.
