摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrochemical apparatus having high capacity and low resistance, to provide a negative electrode for a lithium ion secondary battery, a negative electrode for an alkaline storage battery, an electrode for a fuel cell, and an electrode for a capacitor. <P>SOLUTION: A metal structure 103 having nano-sized fine cylindrical projections 101 is manufactured and an electrode active material 102 is formed on the surface of the metal structure. The metal structure having the nano-sized fine projections is formed, for example, in such a way that a metal layer which is an electrode material is formed on the surface of a substrate having fine pores by plating, and then the substrate is dissolved and removed. Metal filled in the fine pores of the substrate forms a fine projection group. The active material can be formed by depositing metal by plating.
