This removable system is formed from a host device, and a slave device capable of being attached to and detached from the host device. When a first power supply, a second power supply, and a clock signal from the connected host device are all detected by the slave device, the slave device controls a first signal line to a low level. When the host device detects that the first signal line is at the low level, the host device drives a second signal line at a low level. When the slave device subsequently detects that the second signal line is at the low level, the slave device stops driving the first signal line controlled to the low level and executes initialization.
