PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that can suppress fouling caused by an operator or a toner on the periphery when a transfer member is replaced.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus 100 comprises: an image carrier 7 that carries an image formed with developer; a transfer member 14 that is in contact with the image carrier 7 to form a transfer part N2, and is applied with a voltage to transfer the image from the image carrier 7 to a recording material S; and a power supply 16 that applies a voltage to the transfer member 14. The image forming apparatus 100 comprises control means 501 that, when the transfer member 14 is removed from an apparatus body 110 of the image forming apparatus 100, performs, prior to the removal, a cleaning operation of applying a voltage from the power supply 16 to the transfer member 14 to move a developer adhered to the transfer member 14 to the image carrier 7.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6 |
