A cylinder lock is held in the locked position by a ball (9) which engages on one side, a recess in the lock housing (1), and on the other side it engages a spring loaded socket (11). The socket (11) is retained in its upper position by a group of small bars (16) which are mounted side by side and abut against a rib projecting from the underside of the socket. Each bar has a transverse slot with the slot being in a different place in each bar. When the key is inserted the bars are moved so that all their slots are aligned with the socket rib. The socket can then be depressed to allow the lock to be released. USE/ADVANTAGE - Cylinder lock which can be easily changed to suit a different key.
