Sliver to yarn spinning on ring frame - has improved sliver feed by inserting real twist through rotating sliver cans

Sliver from cans is spun into a yarn on a spinning machine. Real twist is inserted into the sliver (7) by rotating the cans (6). Guides (16, 17) are arranged to ensure that the twist is inserted into defined lengths of sliver. The sliver is pref Nm 0.25-0.8 and the inserted twist 2-15 turns/m. A ring frame is fed with sliver (7) from cans (6) through a centering guide (16). The cans are rotated by a drive (11). The sliver (7) is taken to two rolls (17) from where it is guided through tubes (18) to the spinning position (3). The tubes (18) have an injector nozzle (19) to help stringing up with an air gun. The distance between the centering guide (16) and the rolls (17) determines the length of sliver into which the predetermined twist is inserted so that it is uniform. Various forms of centering guides, e.g. yarn brakes, are used. USE/ADVANTAGE - The invention is an improved feeding method in sliver-to-yarn spinning on a ring frame where the roving frame is omitted.
