<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color filter which has high color purity, and at the same time, carries out an extremely bright color display and further provides a desired color tone. <P>SOLUTION: The color filter for a liquid crystal display device is provided with a transmitting part T transmitting light from a backlight part 37 and reflecting parts R1, R2 transmitting reflected external light with respect to each pixel. The transmitting part T has a lamination structure 21 of filter layers 20, 22 being combination of two colors selected from a group of yellow (Y), magenta (M) and cyan (C) and the reflecting parts has a structure in which the filter layers 20, 22 are combination of the same two colors respectively formed as a monolayer. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
