An electric wheelchair has motors 4 positioned on each side of the wheelchair and a simultaneous gear change linkage. The linkage comprising two oscillating plates 11 & 12 which are pivotally connected by a connecting rod 21. One oscillating plate 11 is also connected to a gear change lever. In use when the gear change lever is moved, this causes oscillating plate 11 to rotate, which via the connecting rod 21 causes oscillating plate 12 to rotate thus changing gear on both motors simultaneously. A universal connector 5 may be provided to allow smooth gear changes. |
