PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a motor drive device capable of preventing deterioration of motor efficiency even when a hole element is intermittently driven.SOLUTION: A motor drive device 1 that drives a three-phase brushless DC motor M to which Hall elements 2U, 2V, and 2W that detects a magnetic pole of a rotor as position detection means of detecting a position of the rotor, and outputs a pair of Hall voltages in a reverse polarity are disposed, comprises: an internal regulator 13 that functions as a Hall sensor power source that is intermittently driven by intermittently outputting a driving voltage VReg to the Hall elements 2U, 2V, and 2W; and an electric angle prediction part 16 that predicts a zero-cross timing of an inputted Hall voltage. The internal regulator 13 switches to a DC driving outputting a constant driving voltage to the Hall elements 2U, 2V, and 2W for a period until the zero-cross is detected from prior to the zero-cross of Hall voltage based on a prediction result by the electric angle prediction part 16.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
