PURPOSE:To achieve a simultaneous measurement of orthogonal anisotropy of an anisotropic sample while enabling the observation of an image of the sample. CONSTITUTION:Transducers divided in five which are provided with a spherical lens as acoustic lens 17 and adapted to convert an electrical signal into an ultrasonic wave and a reflected wave from a sample 19 into an electrical signal in such a manner that one 2 of the transducers let the ultrasonic wave enter the center part of the spherical lens. Other four transducers are paired two per set and one set thereof 3 and 4 is arranged at the peripheral part of the spherical lens as opposed to each other sandwiching the center part while another set thereof in the direction orthogonal to the set of the transducers 3 and 4. Receiving adders 22 and 23 are provided to add a reflection signal from the transducer 2 at the center of the spherical lens as such from the sample 19 as received with the acoustic lens 17 to reflected signals from the two sets of the transducers 3-6 at the peripheral part of the spherical lens and the results are inputted into A/D converters 24 and 25. |
