PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To appropriately grasp the replacement time of cutter bits so as to prevent drilling efficiency from decreasing by detecting the abrasion loss of the cutter bits in a tunnel excavator. SOLUTION: A cutter head 12 fitted with a plurality of cutter bits 14 is mounted at the front part of a skin plate 11 in a manner capable of being rotationally driven. A load cell 31 measuring a load acting on the cutter bits 14 is provided, further a dynamic strain meter 35 receiving the measured signal of the load cell 31 and a recording device 36 displaying the detected signal of the dynamic strain meter 35, the pressing force and the main cutting force of the cutter bits 14 are searched for, and the pressing force and the main cutting force are compared with prescribed reference values so as to know an abrasion loss. |
