PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To evaluate responsiveness to a sudden temperature rise of an SD function of a separator by heating a porous film of the separator for a battery at a specific temperature under specific pressure for a specific time by a heat sealer, and calculating electric resistance by measuring AC resistance in an organic electrolyte by an ohmmeter. SOLUTION: A separator for a battery is cut off in a square shape whose one side is about 50 mm, and four sides are fixed to a jig so that wrinkles are not formed, and it is formed as a sample. This is pressurized and heated at a temperature of 50 to 200 deg.C under gauge pressure of 0.1 to 50 kg/cm<2> for 0.1 to 60 seconds by a heat sealer, and is cut off, and is fixed to an electric resistance measuring cell. AC resistance of 10 kHz is measured by an ohmmeter to which this is connected, and electric resistance R(Ωcm<2> ) is calculated by [R=(Rb-Ra)×S]. Here, Ra is electric resistanceΩof an electrolyte of a liquid temperature of 20 deg.C, and Rb is electric resistanceΩof the sample in the electrolyte, and S is the area cm<2> of the sample. Therefore, safety by supposing a nailing test can be easily and suitably evaluated in a short time.
