The method involves changing a wireless connection set up by a mobile terminal (EE1) over a first base station (BS2) in a communications network (KN) to a second base station (BS3) in the communications network without interruption. The base station, over which the connection is currently set up, causes a transmission of an addressing information (AI) identifying an adjacent base station (BS1, BS3) to a second terminal (EE2) connected with the mobile terminal. The data to be transmitted to the mobile terminal are transmitted by the second terminal, to the base station carrying the connection, and to the identified, adjacent base stations, so that data to be transmitted to the mobile terminal, are available at a later handover in the base station to which the connection is handed over, and can be, if necessary, sent to the mobile terminal without interruption.
