PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable radio terminal to reduce the power consumption while keeping high speech quality or the like. SOLUTION: The portable radio terminal that conducts communication under a prescribed multiple access system via a base station, is provided with a 1st diversity configuration section 3 that selects and connects an antenna 1a or 1b to a reception circuit 2a on the basis of a reception level La detected via the reception circuit 2a, a 2nd diversity configuration section 4 that selects either of reception signals from reception circuits 2a, 2b by comparing reception levels La, Lb or synthesizes the reception signals by matching the phases of them, a diversity changeover control section 5 that operates this device in the standby reception with the 1st diversity configuration section 3, and a feeding control section 6 that does not supply power to inoperative parts in the 2nd diversity configuration section 4 in the case of the operation by the 1st diversity configuration section 3. |
