PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To more efficiently obtain a calcium salt of terephthalic acid.SOLUTION: A production method of a calcium salt according to the present invention includes a production step of mixing terephthalic acid, calcium hydroxide, and a hydroxide of a monovalent cation with each other to produce calcium terephthalate. In the production step, the calcium terephthalate is preferably produced under conditions where the molar ratio H/T of the hydroxide H of the monovalent cation to the terephthalic acid T is in the range of 0.01 or more and 0.05 or less and where the molar ratio C/T of the calcium hydroxide C to the terephthalic acid T is in the range of 1 or more and 1.2 or less.SELECTED DRAWING: None
