PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sealing device that can ensure a necessary magnetic flux density of an encoder grid without a degradation in the sealing performance and an increase in the width dimension. SOLUTION: The sealing device comprises a core-mounted elastic seal 4, and magnetic powder-mixed elastomer 5 vulcanized onto a first seal plate 1 and provided with magnetic poles. The seal plate 1 is of a magnetic substance. A magnetic pole pitch P, a wall thickness t1 of the elastomer 5 and a plate thickness t2 of the first seal plate 1 are set in a constant relationship. |
